Vocalist Jane Allyson & drummer Ron Miceli had never met, but they both held the same aspiration.  After years performing in different areas of the entertainment industry, they both wanted to be part of an exciting, interactive cover band; a dance/classic party rock/funk based “get-the-audience-dancing-and-singing-along” type of band.  Karma (and other musicians) introduced them and “The Whiskey Kitten Band” was born. Bill Lovitt (keyboards) and Joe Bonadonna (bass) rounded out the sound with great rhythm, vitality and background vocals. It would be the addition of their final member and Jazz guitarist Teruyuki “Tiger” Tanaka that would ultimately turn the Whiskey Kitten Band into the dance focused, groovin’ band they are today. Come see them live, you'll have a great time!

Jane Allyson
Lead Vocals

Jane spent much of her life as a professional theatre actor, director and vocalist. After performing in thousands of theatrical shows, she has developed the unique ability to sing and harmonize in almost any genre/style. Jane has been singing since she was a child having cut her musical teeth on her father's collection of 1950's 45's.   A full-time vocalist, Jane also sings with the Blue Buddha Jazz Band, Off The Record Band and performs solo shows at various facilities & communities around Illinois.

Tiger Tanaka

Tiger grew up in Tokyo, Japan. While he was in junior high, his father bought him an electric guitar for his birthday. He didn’t know anybody nearby who played guitar so he taught himself how to play by ear. He’s since played with several fine musicians while living in Tokyo.  As he grew older, his musical interests became more varied expanding into the many Jazz styles. In 2008, Tiger and his family came to the US and he was only able to bring his favorite guitar with him (Fender Sunburst Stratocaster).  Tiger also has written several original songs and currently plays with the Blue Buddha Jazz Band.

Ron Miceli

Ron began drumming before he could walk, sitting behind his Uncle's kit as a tot. Currently Ron plays drums for local bands The Whiskey Kitten Band and the Blue Buddha Jazz Band. He also refurbishes vintage drums and customizes drum sets, which he can be seen playing at our shows. Ron is an artist as well, and a few of his drum sets show off some of his art work. Some of Ron's influences are Joe Morello, Steve Gadd and Omar Hakim

Joe Bonadonna

Joe has been a performing musician for about forty years.  Working mainly as a bass guitarist and vocalist, he has been in numerous rock bands, plays with the local tours of but has also pursued many other facets of performing arts over the years.  Joe has been a  student at the American Conservatory of Music, Roosevelt University, Triton College, Jamey Aebersold Jazz Camps, Cabaret Conference at Yale, Improv Olympic (IO), Second City, and the Green Room.  He has acted and directed in community theater as well as acting professionally in interactive dinner theater.

Bill Lovitt

Bill grew up in the Chicago area and started playing keyboards with local bands. He moved to Denver where he joined rock group Arapesh and played a lot of great music from The Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, Eagles, Marshall Tucker Band, Steely Dan, etc. He spent the next several years gigging in CO, WY, TX, LA, PA, NE and across the United States.  After returning to Chicago, Bill worked with various groups including RhythmBone, Southbound 61 and American BBC and then joined The Whiskey Kitten Band. He draws upon his years of playing the keys to mix Rock, Blues, Jazz and Funk elements into his own unique style and sound. Bill plays a double keyboard rig with Yamaha and Roland synths.
